Venture further afield to the Rock Church in Cranfills Gap for a dose of local history and beautiful architecture. Your Meridian State Park camping trip will be a fun and memorable experience, but while you're in the area, check out some of the interesting sites, such as the award-winning winery in Meridian. Bosque Bottoms RV Park is the home of the annual National Championship BBQ Competition, so book early to ensure you have a full-hookup site for your RV.Ĭamp near Meridian State Park at the American Inn & RV Park in Meridian and enjoy full hookups with 30 or 50-amp electric, water, and sewer. Modern restrooms and showers are available at the campground as well as a dump station.
If you're unable to reserve a campsite at Meridian State Park, park your RV rental at Bosque Bottoms RV Park. A fire ring and grill are also included with each campsite. Modern restrooms with showers are within walking distance of each campsite. An additional seven sites offer electric and water, but the maximum RV length for these sites is 19 feet. Meridian State Park offers many amenities to make state park RV camping very comfortable, including eight sites with full hookups. State park RV campgrounds aren't always the most comfortable, but they're generally peaceful and offer fantastic views of the park. Be sure to bring your camera or cell phone along to get great photos of the birds you see. The park’s headquarters has a bird watcher’s guide available. A bird blind is located on the Little Forest Junior Trail. Bird watchers can also search for wood-warblers, woodpeckers, flycatchers, and sparrows. This endangered bird nests in Meridian State Park between March and July. Many avid birdwatchers flock to Meridian State Park in hopes of catching a glimpse of the endangered golden-cheeked warbler. Texas temperatures will quickly rise and you'll need plenty of water while hiking. If you're planning to hike, be sure to prepare a pack before setting out on the trail. Trails range from easy to strenuous pick up a trail guide at the park’s headquarters when you arrive at the park. There are about five miles of trails, including the two-mile Bosque Hiking Trail that circles Lake Meridian. Get up early and step outside your rental RV to watch the sunrise over the horizon and then set out on one of the trails that meander through the park. Just remember to practice water safety while out on the lake and be aware of those around you. You can rent a kayak, jon boat, canoe, or paddleboard at the park’s headquarters, or bring your own watercraft. Paddling on Lake Meridian is one of those activities. While camping at Meridian State Park, you'll be able to participate in numerous activities that will get you outside and into the sunshine.
